Central Football

Futsal is the only FIFA and NZ Football approved version of five-aside football and the world’s fastest-growing indoor sport. Futsal is a small-sided – 5v5 – game played with a smaller low bounce ball, on a court without rebound walls or nets. It is a game that combines fun, creativity, speed, technique, teamwork and quick thinking. NZF Futsal has been designed to complement New Zealand Football’s existing programmes and promote and improve participation in football in New Zealand. All you need is the right attitude, soft soled shoes, long socks & shin pads to play one of the fastest growing indoor sports in NZ.

Central Football is excited to announce that YORB Term 4 Futsal Registrations are now open for junior, youth and senior teams.

This is a great opportunity to keep players active through Term 4, with competitions running at Jubilee Stadium Hall.

📅 Competition Dates

Mondays – 19 October to 7 December 2026 (7 weeks)

8th–13th Grade
Under 15 Male & Female
Senior Men & Women

Fridays – 6 November to 20 November 2026 (3 weeks)

5th–7th Grade

⚽ Junior Competitions – Mixed

All junior competitions are mixed, and teams can be all male, all female or a combination.

5th–7th Grade

3-a-side, no goalkeepers
Small half-court with small goals
2–3 x 15-minute games per night
Teams supply referees
Entry Fee: $100 per team

8th–13th Grade

5-a-side, including goalkeepers
Basketball court
Entry Fee: $350 per team

Grades are based on birth year for 2026:

5th Grade – Born 2021
6th Grade – Born 2020
7th Grade – Born 2019
8th Grade – Born 2018
9th Grade – Born 2017
10th Grade – Born 2016
11th Grade – Born 2015
12th Grade – Born 2014
13th Grade – Born 2013

Female player dispensation: As these competitions are mixed, female players may play down one grade if they wish. This applies from 5th–13th Grade.

Any other dispensation requests must be submitted in writing to ben@centralfootball.co.nz.

🏆 Junior Grading

Where entry numbers allow, junior teams will play three grading games to ensure teams are matched with sides of a similar ability and provide the best possible playing experience.

Scores will be recorded during the grading rounds. Following grading, no winners or competition results will be recorded for junior grades.

👟 Youth & Senior Competitions

There will be no grading for youth or senior competitions. Please enter your team based on your estimated ability.

All competitions will be 5v5 with goalkeepers on a basketball court.

Youth

Under 15 Male – Born 2011/2012
Under 15 Female – Born 2011/2012

Senior

Senior Women – Players must be at least 14 years old
Senior Men – Players must be at least 15 years old

Youth and senior competitions are separate male and female competitions.

Entry Fee: $350 per team

Registrations are now open and will close when capacity is reached or no later than 5pm Monday 12 October 2026.

Late entries may not be accepted, so we encourage clubs and schools to get their teams registered early.
