Women’s Federation League
Our Women’s Federation League Champions have finally been crowned and it’s OneStaff PN Marist who finished the job on Sunday after a gruelling 20 round campaign where no clear leader emerged throughout the year. This was set up last Wednesday night where they defeated Isles Construction Massey University FC 4-1 in the top of the table clash at Arena Manawatu thanks to a brace from Jessie Falloon. It mean all that was needed was a point on Sunday when they faced McGhie Football Whanganui at Wembley Park but they won the league in style winning 3-1. To cap things off Hannah Buzan from Marist finished the season as the Golden Boot winner with 17 goals two clear of Holly Kleinsman from NP Rangers. In the other match played on Sunday Taradale AFC hosted Massey and with the game locked at 2-2, three goals in the last three minutes caused drama to end the season for both teams. Elizabeth Dombroski stepped up as the hero getting two of the late goals to claim the win for Massey 4-3.
Yorb Taranaki Men’s Premiership
The 2021 Champions have been found in an epic top of the table clash at Lynmouth Park on Saturday. Rampage Fitness FC Western just did enough to defeat TMT Building Ltd Moturoa 1-0 to claim the Premiership title and also secure the Challenge Trophy for the season. Connor Oliver-Rose was the scorer on the day but teammate Simon Gibson looks now certain to win the Golden Boot with 25 goals this season and just one game remaining in the Premiership next weekend. There were two other matches played over the weekend with Smith & Sons Eltham also winning 1-0 over Proglaze Waitara thanks to a 40th minute goal by Jacob Shepherd. In the other game Atlas NP Rangers won 9-1 when hosting Novotel Woodleigh with a four goal haul to Taku Warren plus braces to Sam Jiggins and Jack Thomas.
Taranaki Men’s Championship
Millwards Roofing FC Western ended the season with the Challenge Trophy to add to the league title they won last weekend when they won 4-2 at home against Western Autos Moturoa, Joseph Crowe scoring twice for Western. TreeHouse NP Rangers have finished the season in fifth after a 6-1 win when hosting Spectrum Decorating Services Ltd Woodleigh thanks to a hat trick from Jonathan Martin who finishes the season as back to back Golden Boot winner with 24 strikes in 2021. Triples to Michael Reynolds and William Van Kerssen have seen Rough Habits Hawera end their season in style to claim third place on the table with a 7-0 away win at Paul Hamlin Builders Eltham.
Taranaki Men’s Division 1
Shining Peak NP Rangers Oddbodz are the 2021 Men’s Division 1 Champions led by two goals from Matt Ander as they won 5-0 at home against Withers Coachlines Moturoa to also hang onto the Challenge Trophy for the year. Withers Coachlines FDMC Senior Team have finished Runners Up after defeating third placed Smart Rehab & Physio Peringa, McDonalds Real Estate Stratford took fourth place with a 3-0 away win at Wonder Minerals Kaponga and the final match ended in a 2-2 draw between Mark Frost Electrical Hawera and KP Joinery Waitara. The Golden Boot Race amazingly couldn’t be separated between four players on 15 goals each so the award is share between Josh Goble from FDMC, Daniel Malone from Peringa United plus Jeremy Radich and Luke Snellgrove both from Stratford.
Taranaki Men’s Division 2
Taranaki Thru Tubing NP Rangers have finished their season with a 100% record winning 11-0 at home over Taranaki Tyre Torque thanks to six goals from Dean Cumberledge plus doubles to Jeremy Hawkes and Matt Goodey. Marty Suchy @Bayleys FC Western have secured the Challenge Trophy for 2021 with a 12-0 home win against Town & Country Foods Waitara with a hat trick to Stephen McGrath plus a five goal glut to John Breen who finished the year with 35 goals and the Golden Boot title. In the final match Stratford AFC drew 3-3 with Vertech NZ Kaitake HB’s, Jamie Pretty picking up a double for Stratford.
Tungsten Legal Duchess Cup – Semi Finals
League Champions Excel Refrigeration Moturoa booked their place in the Grand Final after winning 8-0 over Inglewood AFC with a hat trick to Danielle Lucinsky plus braces to Fernanda Toscani and Paige Hareb. In the other Semi Final three goals to Reyse Taylor helped Naki Electrical Waitara win 3-1 against NP Rangers AFC to set up a replay of the 2018 Grand Final between Moturoa and Waitara this Sunday.
Tungsten Legal Duchess Plate – Semi Finals
New Plymouth Girls’ High School proved too strong for Eltham AFC winning 8-0 thanks to three goals from Eva Hilliam and a double from Riley Packman. Last year’s inaugural Duchess Plate Champions Liquid Beanz Peringa United have booked their place in their second straight final winning 3-1 away at Tungsten Legal Stratford to set up a NPGHS vs Peringa Grand Final this Sunday.
Tungsten Legal Taranaki Women’s Premiership
Our Women’s Premiership concluded last Wednesday night with two matches. The league Runners Up Hipp Accounting Hawera won 16-1 at Eltham AFC, Rachel Porteous netted nine goals to finish the season as Runner Up Golden Boot with 50 goals. In the other match NP Rangers won 2-0 at home against Worley Woodleigh which was a seven goal improvement from Woodleigh from the match between the sides four days earlier.
