Week 2 saw Athletic head west to Onuku Taipari Domain for a clash with Moturoa. There was a little flourish at the end of the first half with Vanya Apiata-Hodgkinson socring for the visitors on 38’ before Brooke Carter replied in first half stoppage time for level scores at the break. Carter put the home side up in the 57th minute before Apiata-Hodginnson answered back in the 63rd with her second also. The game was then taken away from Moturoa with Morgan-Lee Cassidy getting a double as well for Atheltic (67’, 85’). Final score 2-4 to Whanganui.
