With two points separating these sides sitting 3^rd and 2^nd on the table respectively prior to kick off and leaders PNU dropping points, this game at Guthrie Park took on even more meaning. Havleock would’ve backed themselves at home but found themselves down a goal within two minutes to Palmy Marist. That goal would just be  the beginning of a flurry within the first 20 minutes of the match as Havelock levelled on fourteen minutes. From there it was Palmy Marist with two more goals within a minute of each other and the damage was done. Final score 1-3 to Palmy Marist moving them level on points with PNU at the top of the table.

Palmerston North United had the opportunity to wrap up the league on Sunday when they hosted Moturoa at Memorial Park. The home side did just that in emphatic fashion with a 5-0 win, with some very vocal home supporters watching on. The win gave PNU a record of 10 wins and 2 losses for the campaign, making them deserving Federation League winners for 2024.

Women’s Central League 2024:

Marist welcomed their Federation counterparts Taradale AFC to the Arena Turf in Manawatu. It was the visitors who took an early lead thanks to goals minutes from Laura Brassington and Caitlyn Turner in the 19^th and 21^st minutes respectively. The visitors held on to the lead and went into half time with the cushion. Both sides came out firing in the second half however despite their efforts were unable trouble the scorers. Taradale holding on for a valuable 2-0 win on the road.
