Langley Twigg Taradale AFC produced a dominant away performance to secure a convincing 6–0 victory over Alexia Stoddart Seatoun AFC at Seatoun Park, strengthening their position near the top of the table. Harry Redman opened the scoring early to set the tone, before Zac Madsen took control of the contest in the second half with a remarkable four-goal burst that put the result beyond doubt. Despite Seatoun’s efforts to stay competitive on home soil, Taradale’s clinical finishing and attacking cohesion proved decisive throughout. Benji Foote added a late goal in stoppage time to cap off an emphatic performance as Taradale maintained pressure on the league leaders.

Sophie Burchfield set the tone early with a quick-fire double before completing a first-half hat-trick, while goals from Jessica Woodside, Natalie Orellana, and Chloe Mattock ensured the hosts took complete control before the break. The second half brought no respite for Taradale, with Margot Ramsay, Renee Bacon, and Sherize Concessio all adding to the tally, alongside Orellana’s second of the match.

Match of the Round:

Whanganui Athletic secured a narrow 1–0 victory over New Plymouth Boys’ High School in a tight and competitive encounter, with the decisive moment coming just before halftime.

Both sides settled into the game well, with a balanced opening period and limited clear-cut chances. The contest was largely played between the boxes, with each team showing defensive discipline and organisation.

The breakthrough arrived in the 44th minute when Mike Johannes Maria Dijkgraaf found the back of the net to give Whanganui Athletic a crucial lead heading into the break.

NPBHS responded in the second half with increased intent, making a number of changes and pushing forward in search of an equaliser. However, Whanganui Athletic remained composed defensively and managed the game effectively to protect their advantage.

Despite late efforts from the home side, no further goals were added, and the match finished 1–0.

A big win for Athletic who extend their lead at the top to six points.

Manawatu Men’s Championship

Match of the round:

Whanganui City FC and Feilding United Reserves played out a 2–2 draw in an evenly contested match, with both sides responding to periods of pressure.

Feilding United opened the scoring late in the first half, with Layton Oliver finding the net in the 41st minute to give the visitors a 1–0 lead at the break.

The second half saw a quick turnaround, as Whanganui City responded through Cooper Byrd in the 65th minute to level the match. Just minutes later, Ryan Meredith converted from the penalty spot in the 68th minute to put City in front.

Feilding United responded well, with Drew Gaskin equalising in the 72nd minute to bring the score to 2–2.

Despite late efforts from both teams, neither side could find a winner, and the match finished level.

Manawatu Men’s Division 2

AC Takaro Thirds and Takaro AFC Bua played out a competitive 2–2 draw, with both sides enjoying strong periods across the match. AC Takaro Thirds made the brighter start and were rewarded early when Liam Craw opened the scoring in the 13th minute. They controlled much of the early exchanges and looked to build on their advantage.

Takaro AFC Bua responded well as the half progressed, finding a way back into the match through Raheem Raheem in the 38th minute to level the score at 1–1. However, AC Takaro Thirds regained the lead just before halftime when Pat Mansfield scored in the 42nd minute, ensuring his side went into the break 2–1 ahead.

The second half saw Takaro AFC Bua push for an equaliser, with their persistence paying off in the 63rd minute when Javed Khan found the net to make it 2–2. Both teams continued to search for a winner in the final stages, with late moments at either end, but neither side was able to break the deadlock.

Massey Rigs delivered a composed and clinical performance to secure a 4–0 win over Feilding United Development, with a dominant second-half display proving the difference. The opening stages were relatively even, with Feilding United showing good organisation and working to limit space through the middle. Massey Rigs, however, looked dangerous whenever they were able to progress forward, creating pressure as the half wore on.

The breakthrough came just before halftime when Dustin Fouche found the net in the 44th minute, giving the visitors a valuable 1–0 lead heading into the break. That goal shifted momentum, and Massey Rigs came out strongly in the second half. They quickly took control of the game, with Dustin Fouche adding two goals in quick succession in the 53rd and 59th minutes to complete his hat-trick and extend the lead to 3–0.

With a comfortable advantage, Massey Rigs managed the tempo of the game, keeping possession well and limiting Feilding United’s opportunities to respond. The home side continued to work hard but struggled to create clear chances against a well-structured opposition.The result was capped off late in the match when Dustin Fouche struck again in the 86th minute to seal a four-goal performance and complete a comprehensive win.

WCFC Hammers secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Levin AFC Masters in a tightly contested encounter.The decisive moment came right at the start of the match, with an early goal giving the visitors the advantage. That proved enough to separate the two sides across the 90 minutes.

Levin AFC Masters worked their way into the game and looked to respond, but the Hammers remained organised defensively and managed the contest well. Whanganui Athletic Masters produced a dominant performance to secure a comprehensive 6–0 victory over Feilding United Grand Masters.

The visitors made a fast start, taking the lead in the 6th minute through Mo Abdelaal. They continued to apply pressure and doubled their advantage in the 30th minute when Amro Saleh found the net, giving Athletic a strong 2–0 lead at halftime.

The second half saw the game open up further, with Feilding United conceding two own goals in quick succession through Herb Verstegen in the 52nd and 54th minutes, extending the lead to 4–0. Whanganui Athletic maintained control and added a fifth in the 81st minute through Mickey Cronin. Amro Saleh then completed the scoring with his second goal of the match in the 88th minute.

Takaro AFC Ladies Firsts and Feilding United Women’s 1st’s played out a closely contested 1–1 draw, with both goals coming at key moments in each half.

Feilding United took the lead late in the first half, with Bridie Mcfadzean scoring in first-half stoppage time (28+3’) to give the visitors a 1–0 advantage heading into the break. Takaro responded in the second half and continued to push for an equaliser. Their persistence paid off late in the match when Jasmine Patterson converted from the penalty spot in the 87th minute to level the scores at 1–1.

Both sides had limited time to find a winner following the equaliser, and the match finished all square.

Levin once again showed resilience, responding late in the game when Georgia Mossman scored in the 84th minute to bring the match back to 2–2.Both teams pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but neither could find a decisive goal.
